The 1908 Diary of Charlotte Chaffee (continued)
This volume completes the 1908 Diary entries of Charlotte Chaffee begun in the previous edition, as edited by Helen K. Davidson.
Beginning with the entry on July 1, 1908 Miss Chaffee continues annotating her life, interspersed with numerous trips in the family auto. Her days are filled with dances, visitations, dining out, and family events. In October, returning to school she rushes for her sorority and is appointed Librarian for Zeta books. She takes an interest in politics preferring Theodore Roosevelt, and ends her entries with her trip home at Christmas.
As in the first edition this issue includes numerous photographs including family members, the Rutland Country Club, the Lake Bomoseen Dance Pavilion, the Lake Steamer and Charlotte Chaffee’s home on South Main Street, lending additional interest to her accounts.
